JOB TITLE:  Scale Buyer – Non Ferrous

SUPERVISOR: Non Ferrous Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to weigh and purchase materials on the non ferrous yard scales. This position requires the use of our ROM computer software to complete transactions and using the scale indicator to weigh and print scale weights. The position also requires direct interaction with customers.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES: 

  • Weighing non ferrous customers on the scale
  • Keeping an organized workspace and 100% accuracy in record keeping
  • Communicating with customers, non-ferrous supervisor, material sorters and equipment operators in a courteous, professional manner
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
  • Understands and follows company safety rules and wears required PPE
  • Maintaining good customer relations and assisting with questions regarding material
  • Paying close attention to details including safety procedures, material quality and undesirable materials
  • Must adhere to all state laws regarding the purchase of non-ferrous materials
  • Willing to work in other areas of the yard and perform other tasks as needed

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to communicate in a clear, organized manner
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer / data entry skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Able to work in an outdoor environment
  • Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and/or ability to learn
  • Maintain a positive, respectful attitude with a strong sense of honesty and reliability

 

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Willingness to learn and be versatile;
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules and to promote safety standards;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted;

JOB TITLE:  Class A Driver

SUPERVISOR: Department Supervisors

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Drivers serve as the face of our company while transporting inventory to and from our accounts in the safest and most efficient manner while following DOT and traffic regulations. This position courteously communicates and collaborates directly with suppliers, customers, and coworkers to organize and ensure our inventory gets received or delivered properly.  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES: 

  • Deliver/Pick Up/Load/Unload inventory while operating company vehicles safely;
  • Ensure that routes are the safest and most efficient;
  • Handle any company documentation accurately and thoroughly;
  • Understand how to operate equipment at all times;
  • Maintain company equipment in clean and good working order;
  • Immediately report any mechanical problems to appropriate personnel;
  • Follow DOT, State, & Federal regulations at all times;
  • Work independently with little supervision;
  • Understands and follows company safety rules and wears all proper PPE;
  • Professionally represent company at all times;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess & Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License & Medical Certificate;
  • 36 months of verifiable Tractor Trailer, Dump Trailer, &/or Roll-Off Experience;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection and maintenance;
  • Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards for general industry.
  • Excellent time management skills written/verbal communication skills;
  • Willingness to learn and be versatile;
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules and to promote safety standards;
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted;
  • Ability to stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb and stand or be seated for extended periods.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
